Authors are Rockstars: Featuring Danny Marks




I am SUPER PLEASED to be a part of the Authors are Rockstars tour (hosted by Fiktshun and Two Chicks on Books). My author? The one and only Danny Marks. You probably haven't heard of him...yet...but you will. Soon, my friend, this guy will be taking the YA horror and thriller genre by storm!

Why, you ask?

Because Danny is quite the rockstar. He wrote a book entitled Velveteen. It comes out in October.

And, just to set the record straight, Danny's a rockstar for thinking up such a sweet character name. He also rocks the sunglasses/glasses (like a true rockstar). And what?!? He VLOGs! Yes, and his vlogs are awesome!! Don't believe me? Check out his blog and twitter.

So, Danny is funny, he comes up with cool names, AND he rocks the sunglasses/glasses. What else? He's an awesome writer. I have had the pleasure of reading an e-ARC of his debut, and it is fantastic. The writing, the plot! But I will save my review of Velveteen for another day.

    i stumbled upon Daniels vlog yesterday and i was like yeah sounds like a reasonably interesting book, i'll check it out. and now i'm like Can't wait! Sounds awesome! so,k of course i hope i win but if not definitely gonna buy it!

    Oh I love this vlog! I have to start watching the YA Rebels channel again. It was so much fun. And incredibly informative.

    The three words the author used courtesy of VOYA to describe Velveteen sent me immediately to Amazon to pre-order the book, which apparently I've had pre-ordered for months. "Violet, morbid, crass." YES! Win!

    Dark and disturbing! Oh I love it! I cannot wait! I had heard of Velveteen ages ago but I hadn't realized it was a dark book. Now my radar is up. This is definitely one to read.

    I very much agree with a lot of what the author said about children and reading. I had parents who encouraged me to read whatever I wanted (literature, that is) and the stuff that was too advanced for my understanding just went right over my head. It didn't stop me from enjoying the classics or modern-day fiction though.

    I love the idea that Logan wears a Grover costume. This I can't wait to see! And I love the author's enthusiastic vlogging style.

    I think my father totally wishes I was one of those family members who just gushed and gushed about his writing. I rip it to shreds! I have zero family loyalty. Which is why I think he's afraid of sending me his latest updates. :)

    Anyway, I've rambled on long enough! Thank you so much for being a part of this tour! Both author and blogger totally rocked this stop out on the last day of the tour!

    I subscribe to Danny's channel so I already knew how funny he was :) I completely agree about kids being able to read what peaks their interest I read a lot of more adult books when I was a kid and I didn't grow up to be a serial killer or one of the dregs of society and I know plenty of others that did so also and they are fine too :)
