Renegade is

It blew my socks off.

Let me start off by saying this is a very disturbing and bloody book. Evie is the daughter of the people. She's groomed to be a shining beacon in her underwater utopia, free from savage surface dwellers. But things are not what they seem, and her world is far from perfect. Slowly, Evie begins to uncover secrets that make her question everything she's ever been told.

What follows is an action-packed, but thought-provoking story about learning the truth and finding oneself.

The writing was exquisite, and I loved Evie. She's strong, The story was also well-paced. I was glued to my kindle from page one because I needed to find out what was going on! And I love the J.A. Souders managed to keep me guessing! It's not often that that happens. Even the romance, while verging on instalove, was decently done. There's no love triangle and I really think Gavin and Evie complimented each other well.

I really want to say more, but it's a book better read and experienced.

  1. Disturbing and bloody, I like it! Good to hear that Evie is strong, because that's how I love to see the main character :) And no love-triangle; that makes me so happy! This book sounds great, I can't wait to read it.

  2. I really enjoyed Renegade, but it got four stars from me because of the almost insta-love and the level of running around without accomplishing much. BUT I loved how surprisingly gruesome it was, and the psychological elements held me in suspense for its entirety!

  3. We have Renegade on my shelf! Something is definitely wrong with us, we keep seeing all these amazing reviews about the book. And yet we still haven't read it yet. Bumping this up on our to-read list. Thanks!

  4. I'm so glad you loved Renegade! It was so much creepier and more disturbing than I anticipated.. and that was pretty awesome! I actually wasn't totally sold on the romance. I loved some parts of it, like their funny banter and awkward moments (like when talking about how she has been trained on how to pleasure men LOLOL!!!!), but when they started professing their love I was kind of.. ehhh..

BUt it was still a fabulous book and I'm so happy you loved it too! :))
