WoW: What's Left of Me

What's Left of Me by Kat Zhang
Release: September 18, 2012

Eva and Addie started out the same way as everyone else—two souls woven together in one body, taking turns controlling their movements as they learned how to walk, how to sing, how to dance. But as they grew, so did the worried whispers. Why aren’t they settling? Why isn’t one of them fading? The doctors ran tests, the neighbors shied away, and their parents begged for more time. Finally Addie was pronounced healthy and Eva was declared gone. Except, she wasn’t…

For the past three years, Eva has clung to the remnants of her life. Only Addie knows she’s still there, trapped inside their body. Then one day, they discover there may be a way for Eva to move again. The risks are unimaginable–hybrids are considered a threat to society, so if they are caught, Addie and Eva will be locked away with the others. And yet…for a chance to smile, to twirl, to speak, Eva will do anything.

What can I say? The cover is probably my favorite cover of 2012. The simple (yet edgy) cover with the elegant font...I AM IN LOVE. And the summary is pretty amazing. I honestly can't wait to dive into this book! I am crossing my fingers, because RIGHT NOW Kat is giving away an ARC (maybe two!) on her blog

My Waiting on Wednesday is Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo.

I mean, LOOK at that COVER and the summary--OMG. Ever since I heard about this debut novel from the wonderful ladies at PublishingCrawl.com, I have added this to my 2012 "I MUST READ" pile (along with a handful of other books). Russian-inspired fantasy? Good Lord, count. me. in.

And all the spectacular reviews are making me even more excited. *sigh* Patience is a virtue, though, so I suppose I must wait. I have no other choice. But be sure to check it out come June 5th. Summary and Trailer are provided below. Go ahead and gawk at the awesomeness--I know I am.

Waiting on Wednesday (or Thursday): Insurgent

So I am a little late to the bandwagon, but I just read Divergent by Veronica Roth this past week. It was a very quick and thrilling read (although I did have small issues with the world-building). Those gripes gripes aside, words cannot describe how much I am looking forward to Insurgent! It is the sequel to Divergent, which had quite a cliffhanger ending (the good kind). Also, I am SO looking forward to finding more about the factions of Candor and Amity.

Here's the summary for Insurgent:

One choice can transform you—or it can destroy you. But every choice has consequences, and as unrest surges in the factions all around her, Tris Prior must continue trying to save those she loves—and herself—while grappling with haunting questions of grief and forgiveness, identity and loyalty, politics and love.

Tris's initiation day should have been marked by celebration and victory with her chosen faction; instead, the day ended with unspeakable horrors. War now looms as conflict between the factions and their ideologies grows. And in times of war, sides must be chosen, secrets will emerge, and choices will become even more irrevocable—and even more powerful. Transformed by her own decisions but also by haunting grief and guilt, radical new discoveries, and shifting relationships, Tris must fully embrace her Divergence, even if she does not know what she may lose by doing so.

And let's just "ohhh" and "ahhh" over the cover, shall we? Yes. Also take a look at the TRAILER recently released for the book:

Yup. This is a book I am DEFINITELY looking forward to reading. No doubt about it. Check it out come May 1, 2012.

So, what book am I looking forward to reading? There are many, but there's on particular debut that will be coming out next month. What is it? Storm by Brigid Kemmerer. If you want to know what it's about, read the description (taken from good reads)

Earth, Fire, Air, Water – they have more power than you dream.

Ever since her ex-boyfriend spread those lies about her, Becca Chandler is suddenly getting all the guys—all the ones she doesn't want. Then she saves Chris Merrick from a beating in the school parking lot. Chris is different. Way different: he can control water—just like his brothers can control fire, wind, and earth. They’re powerful. Dangerous. Marked for death.

And now that she knows the truth, so is Becca.

Secrets are hard to keep when your life’s at stake. When Hunter, the mysterious new kid around school, turns up with a talent for being in the wrong place at the right time, Becca thinks she can trust him. But then Hunter goes head-to-head with Chris, and Becca wonders who’s hiding the most dangerous truth of all.

The storm is coming . . .

And if case you missed it, Brigid recently posted the trailer on her blog. Check it out:
